Meet Lord of the Ring star, Orlando Bloom.....

• Orlando was born in Canterbury, England on 13 January 1977, and is 5'11" tall.
• At school his nicknames were OB and Orli.
• He first decided to become an actor when he realized Superman was just an actor. Orlando thought it would b cool to play action hero parts and the rest is history.
• Orlando has a tattoo of the number 9 in elvish, after all the main actors in Lord of the Rings, got 1, each on a secret place on their bodies!
• He was nearly killed three years ago when he broke his back in a fall out of a third floor window. he was warned that he might not walk again, but 12 days after the operation, he walked out of the hospital and on to stardom.
• Orlando has a 2-yr-older sister called Samantha.
• He says he isn't too bothered about how much he earns: "I don't care much about the money at all. frankly, if I get a chance to kiss someone in a movie, they wouldn't need to pay me at all."
• His first job was helping out at a clay pigeon shooting range when he was 13.
• As all the stars were stranded in New Zealand during filming, Orlando decided to try and find something they could all do together to stop them getting bored. after suggesting motor, then mountain bikes, they finally all agreed on surfing!
• Orlando is the most popular lad on the internet right now and is amazed so many people have searched for him: "I'm a complete technophobe, which is why I don't have e-mail, but now my mum wants me to start my own website."
• During the filming of Lord of the Rings, Orlando broke his ribs when he fell off his horse an another actor landed on top of him! he admits to being accident prone: "I've broken my back, my ribs, my nose, both my legs, my arm, my wrist, a finger and a toe, and cracked my skull three times!"
